Philosophy

Dr. Gisler believes that medicine should be anchored in a thorough uncovering of the root causes of illness along with an in-depth biographical understanding of each patient's relationship to their body, mind and spirit. Advances in New Medicine have demonstrated that the primary imbalances that lie at the root of degeneration and breakdown of the body are often much simpler to correct (and/or reverse) than conventional medical practices have led us to believe. Dr. Gisler's patient-centered approach is one of  education and intervention; this is best achieved with the full involvement of the patient

Approach

Dr. Gisler’s osteopathic career is rooted in the principle that each person is his or her own entity, consisting of body, mind, spirit and soul; and that the body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance. Accordingly, any compromise in health should be considered as a synthesis of linked physical, mental, and spiritual factors. To achieve optimal health, a patient’s condition must be addressed through a personalized plan that tailors the benefits of multiple medical methodologies to his or her unique set of needs. For some this may amount to a single, stand-alone form of treatment. For others, such a plan may incorporate aspects of lifestyle, mind-body nutrition, herbs, supplements, bio-identical hormones, anthroposophic medicines, and of course when needed, prescription and traditional allopathic medicine.

While Western medications have their place in the healing sciences and are applicable for certain conditions under certain circumstances, they are not without limits, nor should they be considered the necessary go-to option for all health concerns.

Foundation

According to A.T. Still, the founder of osteopathic medicine, the goal of treatment should be more than simply the pursuit of disease. To truly search for health, a physician must adopt a comprehensive approach to his or her patient’s total well being. It was this philosophy that first led Dr. Gisler to osteopathy, and it has been her continued mission since to explore new and other forms of holistic healing.

Dr. Gisler is a member of the Academy of Comprehensive Integrative Medicine, American Osteopathic Association, American Physicians Association of Anthroposophic Medicine, American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society and the American Academy of Ozonotherapy.
